Security checks by the National Security Authority (NSA) – 2025 follow-up of the recommendations
general assembly on July 16, 2025
In 2022, the Belgian Court of Audit identified shortcomings in the security checks carried out by the National Security Authority (NSA), particularly about the legal framework and the running of the process. In its follow-up report recently sent to the Federal Parliament, the Court found that most of its initial recommendations were implemented. The legislation was improved. The NSA was reformed and its authority to manage security checks was transferred to the Federal Police, which took steps to improve the consistency, quality and efficiency of the checking process.
